Marcus Stromberg
Raised in Crookston, Minnesota, Marcus Stromberg discovered an inherent love of designing and building just about anything by the time he entered high school. By then, he was not only working as carpenter or construction foreman every summer, but participating in state vocational competitions for everything from Architectural Drafting and Plan Reading to Residential Construction and Cabinet Making.
A graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in Environmental Design, Marcus worked his way through school; first as a drafter for the commercial building mechanical engineering firm Henning, Metz & Hartford, and then as an architectural designer and project manager for Andersen Architecture. Andersen loved his work enough to hire him full time upon graduation and continued to elevate his role in the firm for another three years.
In January 2005, Marcus seized the opportunity to expand the scope of his expertise by accepting a position in architectural sales and project management with Simonson Lumber & Hardware. Focusing largely on developing contractor relationships for residential projects also helped him develop vast knowledge of residential building products and practices.
Two years later, Marcus was invited to join Twin City Acoustics and help lead their Window & Specialty Millwork division, representing respected manufacturers like Andersen and JELD-WEN. Over the next seven years, he worked on dozens of multi-million dollar residential projects throughout the Twin Cities and Brainerd Lakes region before founding Stromberg Built in 2014.
In addition to a lifetime of professional experience, Marcus attributes part of his personal success to a lifelong passion for competitive sports and the character they build. A 15-time letter winner for high school cross country, swimming and track, he’s recently been named a Top Ten Minnesota Triathlete of the Year (2012-2014), a Top Ten USAT National Triathlete for his age group (2013-2014), and qualified for the World Triathlon Championships in 2014 & 2015.
